Receive and Then Read the Received Mail Message

Useful Tip: If you are attempting to receive a new mail message which you know you should receive but you are getting the message that you have no new mail, then just wait for a few more minutes and then attempt to retrieve your new email once more.

The steps mentioned below tell you the process to receive a mail message and then read that received mail message.

  1. Go to the Folders list
  2. Here, click Inbox
  3. The Outlook Express application will retrieve your new mail message and display it in the list of all emails present in your Inbox
  4. In case, you are already in the Inbox folder, then click Send/Recv button
  5. Each mail message is separately represented by a message header summary
  6. You have to click the message header for reading the contents of that mail
Useful Tip: You can open an email in a separate window by double-clicking the message header. An active network connection is required for viewing a mail stored on the mail Server. However, you do not require an active network connection for viewing any message stored in the mail folders on your local hard drive.
