What is DBX File?

DBX files are the files where Outlook Express stores its emails or data. Outlook Express stores or saves separate DBX files for each mail folders. All the email messages are stored in Folders.dbx file. Folders.dbx is an index of all Outlook Express message folders. It contains a structure of all news groups, mail folders and some synchronization data.

 

DBX files can be found in Outlook Express Store Folder

One can find or locate the store folder using Tools menu option. Go to Tools > Options > Maintenance in Outlook Express. Then copy the location from the following window:

 

and paste it in address bar. Then you can locate all the DBX file of each email folders.
